Mexican Revolution

This Monday is the 20 of November. The mexicans celebrate the "Mexican Revolution" because of the political events that occured in Mexico in early 20th century. The revolution began with the mexican people who removed the dictator Porfirio Díaz Mori from office 1910. Mexico was the first country in the world to adopt a constitution that gave workers social rights.

This year, people around the world get toghether to show their anger to the mexican state for mistreating the people of Oaxaca. They can silence the people of Oaxaca, but they can never silence the revolution. ¡Viva la revolución!

Facts the media isn't telling you

I found a video today on Youtube.com regarding the recent conflicts in the Levant territory (Palestine, Lebanon, Syria). Noam Chomsky tells the real deal of what really happened after Hamas won the election.

Israel and USA announced that they will punish the palestinian people for voting the wrong way in a free election but did not say how they will perform the punishment. Two palestinian civilians was abducted by Israel in Gaza and brought to Israel in late June.

Islamic Jihad acts quickly and abducts an israeli soldier near the border. As you probably know, his name is Gilad Shalit. The israeli government quicky responded and launched Operation Summer Rains with the goal to bring back Corpral Gilad Shalit. The operation was devastating for the palestinian people.

The Lebanese Hizballah kidnapped two israeli soldiers at the lebanese-israeli border causing a great crises. This was not done without any reason at all. Israel had at that time officially three lebanese prisoners. But that is not all. Hizballah felt sympathy for the people of Gaza and a two front conflict for Israel might release the pressure in Gaza Strip.

Oaxaca Resistance

The teachers in Oaxaca, Mexico only wanted better working conditions and a salery raise. The government responded with brutal attacks made by the mexican police force.

Join the demonstration in Stockholm on Monday the 20/11 to exploit your feelings regarding the brutal police acts. The demonstration starts at 18:00 in Hötorget and ends about two hours later in the vicinity of the Mexican embassy.

Front POLISARIO

Ever since Spain left Western Sahara in 1975 the Front POLISARIO have been fighting the moroccan and mauritanian invaders. The Mauritanian army consisting of 3 000 armed men surrendered in 1979 due to Front POLISARIOS successful guerilla warfare. However, Moroccos armed forces kept attacking the Sahrawi people and its armed forces. A peacetreaty was signed in 1991 under UN surveillance. The Sahrawi people and Front POLISARIO are living in exil in refugee camps in Algeria.

In 1976 the Front POLISARIO established the Sahrawi Arabian Democratic Republic (SADR). It controlls parts of Western Sahara and acts as a democratic nation. It has full membership in the African Union since 1984 and over 80 countries recognize SADR.

In my opinion, I can not understand how two arabic nations could perform such horrible acts against a fellow arabian country. I think the Arab League should consider kicking Mauritania and Morocco out and instead make room for a West Saharian entrance.

Carlos Latuff

I would like to dedicate this post to Carlos Latuff, a Brazilian political cartoonist. He draws about current news and events in Palestine and Iraq.

He has during the years recieved a lot of criticism but even more compliments. He sometimes mix comic irony in his artwork to get people to understand the situation.

Carlos Latuff has not only inspired my to be more active but around the world there are people who are positively affected by his artwork. I wish him the best of luck in the future.

Hands Off Venezuela

Today I attended on a "Hands Off Venezuela" campaign meeting in Stockholm. "Hands Off Venezuela" is an international campaign started in 2002 after several attempts by right wing activists in Venezuela to overthrow the democratic elected government and the president Hugo Chavez. The campaign has spread to over 30 countries in four years.

Venezuela is having an election next month (3/12). This election is important for the future of the Venezuelan people because after 3/12 it will stand clear if Venezuela countinues to be a socialist country or if it will move towards USA.

Baghdad bomb

Today at 08:00 GMT +1 the people of Baghdad witnessed another terrifying suicidebombing. According to local authorities there were two bombs that detonated close to a police station. Approximatley 35 recruites have been reported dead and more than 50 wounded.

This has been an everyday life for the people of Iraq. I blame the american government for these acbrtions. Their lack of organized security and crimes in Iraq has pushed the iraqi resistance movement to this level. I condemn theese kind of attacks on civilians. The resistance movement should focus on the foreign military forces.

I share their goal for a world of solidarity and unity, a world where previous enemies now sit together around the same table and shares the same piece of bread.
